One photo a day for 100 days.
It is so important as a human being to have creativity in your life. I firmly believe that, and I also believe creativity can be learnt, and should be given more importance at school. But that’s for another post… I started with the idea of having a personal photography and art project last year and it gave me much joy and pain at the same time. What I learnt though, is that I could work with any light. Not that I mastered them all, far from it, but at least I was happy to know that. I needed something to focus on for this year’s run, and I have to be honest, I couldn’t focus it on something in particular.
Always learning.
Looking back on year 2 of the project, I know that I have taken more thought, that I have made each picture with more intention. Last year, I was experimenting a bit of everything. This year, I made decisions. I observed and noted and decided if it was worth taking the image, if I had something to say, and if the light added or empowered that message. I don’t think I succeeded every time and I am OK with that. I measure my success this way: I feel that light is becoming more and more of a strength in my photography and is becoming as much the subject of the photos I take as the people or the scene.
To follow me on my forever quest of light, this is the best place.
